All New Amazon Kindle Paperwhite will be released on November 4th, 2021. The E-Reader will come in two variants,Kindle Paperwhite 5 and Paperwhite 5 Signature Edition. The Kindle Paperwhite 5 will have 8GB of storage and the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition will have 32GB of storage.
This new Kindle Paperwhite 5 has a giant 6.8 inch screen with 300 PPI , adjustable warm light, up to 10 weeks of battery life, and 20% faster page turns. One of the most exiting aspects, is the inclusion of USB-C and Qi wireless charging. This is the first time, in a longtime, that the Kindle finally feels modern.
The screen will be flush with the bezel. They will have 17 white and amber LED lights, so you will be able to use the typical front-lit display, and it also has the same color temperature system the Kindle Oasis 3 employs. This lighting system is a huge upgrade, the Paperwhite 4 only had 5 LED lights. The Signature Edition will have Auto-adjusting light sensors, so they will automatically change the brightness of the screen, based on the environmental lighting.
It will also have wireless charging capability and Amazon will be selling a new kit. You will be able to connect to WIFI to purchase audiobooks and ebooks on the Amazon bookstore. The product listing page does not mention a cellular version for an extra fee.
You will get around 10 weeks of battery life, based on a half hour of reading per day with wireless off and the light setting at 13. Battery life may vary depending on use. Audible audiobook streaming over Bluetooth will reduce battery life. Fully charges in approximately 5 hours from a computer via USB cable; fully charges in less than 2.5 hours with a 9W USB power adapter; fully charges in less than 3.5 hours with any compatible 10W Qi wireless charging pad.
Read it in the beach , camp or lounging around the pool. If you are like me, you often enjoy tea or coffee on everything and luckily it is waterproof (IPX8), tested to withstand immersion in 2 meters of fresh water for 60 minutes.
